The government of Punjab will buy 108 new vehicles for ministers and bureaucrats during the ongoing year, which will cost it Rs1.14 billion, it was reported on Wednesday.
In this connection, the transport wing has presented recommendations to the provincial government.
As per the documents available with the 24News TV channel, 28 new vehicles will be purchased at the cost of Rs300 million.
Documents inform that a land cruiser, two Haval H5, five Grande Altis, 10 Toyota Altis, and 10 Toyota Yaris are included in the vehicles to be purchased for the members of the cabinet.
Besides that, two four-by-four bulletproof vehicles, valued at Rs40 million, will also be purchased.
The government has already okayed the purchase of bulletproof vehicles.
Besides that, recommendations to buy 25 vehicles for the security of VIPs at the cost of Rs27 million have also been accepted.
Documents also tell that vehicles will be bought for the chief minister’s inspection team at the cost of Rs530 million.
The officials have informed that following the acceptance of recommendations, the vehicles will be bought.
